At Zacharias Vickers McCann, we believe in the power of perseverance. Throughout our firm’s experience, we have had the privilege of helping individuals overcome some of life’s most significant challenges. As part of our continued commitment to supporting students, we are pleased to announce the 2025 Perseverance Prevails Scholarship.
This scholarship is aimed at students who have demonstrated resilience and perseverance in their own lives. We invite applicants to write about a time when they faced an obstacle they thought they couldn’t overcome but triumphed through determination and strength.
This is a one-time scholarship award with one student selected. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2025.
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility
- The scholarship is available to current high school seniors, vocational students, and undergraduate or graduate students who are legal residents of Canada. Applicants must be enrolled in a vocational program or a two or four year post-secondary institution for the Fall 2025 semester.
- Employees of Zacharias Vickers McCann, their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, and spouses), and those living in the same household are not eligible. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and maintain good academic standing.
Application Requirements
- The candidate must fill out the form below with all necessary information.
- The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: Write about a personal experience where you overcame a major challenge through perseverance.
- Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is deemed present in the essay, the application will be denied.
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students can submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
- Preference will be given to student’s either from or attending secondary school in the province.
The recipient of the 2025 Perseverance Prevails Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.
