Vista first joined Zacharias Vickers McCann as an Articling Student after earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta. Now, as an Associate at ZVM, Vista’s legal practice is primarily focused in personal injury litigation and family law. She also has diverse experience in civil litigation and employment law matters. Vista has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia as well as the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Vista immigrated to Canada at a very young age and was raised in Port Moody, BC. Prior to attending law school, she earned her Bachelor of Science with a Major in Biomedical Physiology and a Minor in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University. During her time at SFU, Vista worked as a researcher in the Department of Molecular Biology, focusing her research on snow algae, its lifecycle, and its potential impacts on climate change.
She then relocated to Edmonton where she attended law school at the University of Alberta. During law school, Vista was awarded the 2021 David R. Percy Q.C. Excellence in Leadership Award – a testament to her unequivocal commitment to her peers and the greater community. Perhaps the most formative of her experiences during her legal education was her work with the Criminal Law Division of Student Legal Services of Edmonton. In that capacity, Vista regularly appeared as defense counsel in the Provincial Court of Alberta during docket and trial proceedings, advocating for low-income individuals who were facing incredible uncertainty in their battles with our complex and ever-changing legal system. It is Vista’s ongoing commitment to justice and the betterment of her community that has guided her throughout her legal education, and continues to define her work today as a lawyer and as a member of the Fraser Valley Community.
When not at work, Vista enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, or staying in with a good book. She is learning how to golf, but still has a long way to go.
